FRIENDLY WATER FOR THE WORLD
Social Media and Video Intern
June - August 2018
As a long-time MediaLab client of mine, Friendly Water for the World (FWW) hired me as a video and social media intern to help promote their organization. The company was mostly comprised of volunteers with very little social media experience. FWW was aware that their presence on Facebook and Instagram could use improvement, so they asked me to make a social media guide to help them learn how to post and create cohesion within their organization.
The second project I worked on for FWW that summer was a video they were planning to use at a conference promoting the rights of women around the world. They provided me and my partner Helen with footage they gathered in Kasaana, Uganda. This little town is almost solely comprised of HIV-positive citizens, who have limited access to clean drinking water. FWW specializes in teaching communities such as these how to build sustainable sources of clean drinking water using their products. These products use dirt, an extremely renewable source, to purify water in the area. They also install rain water filtration systems to help these communities become more self-sufficient.

After storyboarding, compiling, and editing their footage, FWW was pleased to show this video at their conference and use it in their future pursuit of grants and funding. Their social media presence was also improved after using my guide as a base for future posts.
